Continuum Announces Capability to Accept Cryptocurrencies Donations

NEW HAVEN, CT – November 29, 2021 – Continuum of Care, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in New Haven, will accept charitable donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies throughout its end-of-year fundraising campaign, beginning with #CryptoGivingTuesday on November 30.

Since 2019, #CryptoGivingTuesday has fostered a culture of philanthropy among cryptocurrency users, a demographic which now exceeds 220 million worldwide. Similar to Giving Tuesday, which falls on the same day, #CryptoGivingTuesday helps organizations like Continuum promote their causes to potential supporters—in this case, the donations come in cryptocurrency, rather than cash, credit card, or check.

Given the rise in value and popularity of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Continuum, a behavioral health nonprofit, chose to diversify its revenue streams by accepting crypto donations in 2021.

“We’re excited to move into the cryptocurrency space,” says Patti L. Walker, President and CEO at Continuum. “This Giving Tuesday, we’re looking forward to welcoming new supporters to join our mission of rebuilding lives.”

Continuum will be joined in #CryptoGivingTuesday fundraising efforts by its partner, The Giving Block, which provides technological solutions and support to charities that want to accept cryptocurrency donations. Supporters can donate crypto to Continuum at: www.ContinuumCT.org/Crypto.
