CONTINUUM OF CARE RECEIVES SIGNATURE GRANT FROM THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR GREATER NEW HAVEN FOR $50,000

New Haven, Connecticut — August 18, 2022 — Continuum of Care, Inc. is pleased to announce it has received a $50,000 grant from The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. These funds will provide general operating support to benefit multiple services that Continuum of Care provides to the most challenged members of the community.

Continuum of Care enables adults who are challenged with mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, and/or struggling with addiction to rebuild a meaningful life in the community. The grant will be used to support Continuum’s work in three key focus areas. The first area is supporting Veterans as they recover from PTSD, Substance Use Disorder, or Mental Health challenges. The grant will also be applied toward supporting clients who are diagnosed with mental illness and have been homeless or chronically hospitalized due to their condition. The funds will also help to enhance staff training in order to ensure a consistent and comprehensive set of skills needed to help clients with diverse and complex needs to rebuild their lives.

“We are extremely grateful to The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven for this generous grant award.,” stated Patti Walker, President and CEO. “Supporting our clients mental health management and recovery is paramount to our organization and this grant will certainly make a difference achieving our goals of servicing the most challenged members of our community.

At least 700 of them have struggled with chronic homelessness or institutionalization, and even more have faced recurring hospitalization.
