Veterans Recovery Support Program

ACUTE SERVICES

"I will be eternally grateful for the assistance and support given to me while at Continuum of Care. The staff is exemplary." - T.D.

It is well documented that our country's veterans are underserved and very much impacted by mental health and substance abuse disorders.

Continuum’s Veterans Recovery Support Program is a collaborative effort with the Veterans Administration (VA).  Qualified veterans who have experienced a mental health crisis, (such as severe PTSD, depression, etc.) are admitted to the VA Hospital.  Then, together, Continuum and the VA provide crisis stabilization, housing, outpatient clinical care, and day services as a short-term alternative to psychiatric inpatient care.

The power of our program is that, while the veterans attend the VA for clinical treatment and services daily, they return back to live in Continuum’s supportive home and receive additional therapy, case management, peer support, and other assistance and services to help each veteran prepare to successfully return to community living with appropriate housing, healthcare, psychiatric services, and other supports needed for ongoing recovery and successful living.

As a result of Continuum’s existing program, 95% of our veterans complete the program and achieve access to housing and ongoing community resources.

Continuum’s community based mental health residential crisis services for veterans is the only one of its kind in the United States.

Our Program Offers:

  • Comfortable, home-like environment
  • 24-hour staffing
  • Nursing & Medication Management
  • Recovery support groups

We’re Expanding:

Because results of our current Veterans Program has been so successful, the VA has selected Continuum to expand our existing services to two new targeted veterans oppulations:  1)  Veterans struggling with substance use disorder, and 2) Veterans struggling with severe PTSD. This means we will serve more than 400 veterans .  Further, Continuum’s residential treatment programs for veterans with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders represent the only community-based residential treatment program of its kind in the nation.  The two new houses are undergoing some renovation.  The expanded programs require funding and support so that we may renovate and furnish  the new houses.
