It is well documented that our country's veterans are underserved and very much impacted by mental health and substance abuse disorders.
Continuum’s Veterans Recovery Support Programs are a collaborative effort with the Veterans Administration (VA). Qualified veterans who have experienced a mental health crisis, (such as severe PTSD, depression, addiction etc.) are admitted to the VA Hospital. Then, together, Continuum and the VA provide crisis stabilization, housing, outpatient clinical care, and day services as a short-term alternative to psychiatric inpatient care.
The power of our program is that, while the veterans attend the VA for clinical treatment and services daily, they return back to live in Continuum’s supportive home and receive additional therapy, case management, peer support, and other assistance and services to help each veteran prepare to successfully return to community living with appropriate housing, healthcare, psychiatric services, and other supports needed for ongoing recovery and successful living.
As a result of Continuum’s existing program, 95% of our veterans complete the program and achieve access to housing and ongoing community resources.
Continuum’s community based mental health residential crisis services for veterans is the only one of its kind in the United States.
